Mountain Man is a square digital artwork created using the Medibang digital art app. The piece blends a traditional visual style with modern tools and technology, depicting a man standing at the base of a mountain and looking upward toward the peak. The design is paired with the Chinese quote, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”, attributed to Laozi.
This artwork reflects how I felt during my studies, standing at the beginning of something bigger and preparing for the experiences that would follow graduation. The mountain symbolises the goals I hoped to achieve, while the figure at the bottom represents the courage to begin, even with fear and uncertainty. The message served as a reminder that progress comes from taking one step at a time and continuing to move forward with intention.
This project became an important reflection of growth, perseverance and the mindset that guides me in both creative work and life.
